  3. Hopefully an assessment has already been made as to how many can be in the briefing (any other )room at a given time so that is not the problem. Even when there is a canteen in the station, presumably it is set out in a CV19 safe manner. It is almost a laughable dichotomy (I think that is the right phrase) that police need to be escalated in getting the vaccine and then go and do dumb things like this which neither protects themselves individual, as a team or the wider community. Just amazed that no one started one of those crowd funding ventures to pay their accumulated fines.
  4. No. Because that’s not the Legislation. [EDIT]: For the record, I have not and will not issue a ‘Covid ticket’ to anyone.
  5. I have to say, yes, we work in close proximity all the time as it's an unavoidable part of the job, but they must be incredibly naive if they didn't expect someone to make an issue of it. People can't wait to see cops put a foot wrong.
  6. What are you going to do then? Stand at the door to the briefing room and hand out covid tickets to officers as they leave it?

    Coronavirus Powers of Entry

In addition to the above, if you believe a licensable activity is going on inside then you have powers of entry under licensing legislation.

    Coronavirus Powers of Entry

Any advice on a specific area of law is from either currently-serving UK police officers, and is offered to the best of their ability, or from members of the public who are perhaps aspiring to be serving police officers and may not hold the necessary level of knowledge to provide such assistance or by any other member who may offer their opinion. Either way such advice can only be treated as an opinion and nothing more. Members should look for the Verified Members Badge that appears on the posters name as advice from members holding this badge are verified police employees. The information is

    Coronavirus Powers of Entry

This is also my understanding. This is also correct (in my opinion). So don’t embarrass yourself or get yourself filmed trying to do the ‘E - Enforce’. You can only try and reason. Countless embarrassing articles and videos online of officers trying to enforce Covid legislation. Until the Secretary of State comes up with something enforceable, don’t.

    Coronavirus Powers of Entry

In broad terms no specific “power to enter” that we had been accustomed to in the past, but under the CV regs, phrases are used such as “take necessary action” which could include entry. As quite a few of such events have involved liaising or at least attempting to liaise with organisers or owners of sites, quite a few have been made 7nder a warrant. That’s rarely something mentioned in media, regardless of the subject
  16. I just watched a video of an officer attending calls to a possible party, the occupant denies it and says they need a warrant. The officer replies he has a power of entry. Bearing in mind this is a clip with little context, I'm not questioning the officer as we are not aware of all the facts. It did raise a question though. My understanding, as of now, officers don't have a general power of entry if they suspect an illegal gathering, in order to give tickets. They do, however, if they believe there is an infectious persons inside and there is a need to prevent infection. Would this

  21. I know times change, and it's been fifteen years since I retired, but with the closure of canteens, and the fact that Officers still have to Parade on together, travel in vehicles together, deal with incidents together, is it too much for the General Public to realise that Officers are already putting their health in jeopardy, what difference does 20 minutes in a cafe make... The fact that the Media enjoys stirring up the Police haters at times like this, and the Bosses break into a sweat and side with the snowflakes instead of supporting their Officers doesnt bode well for the future.
  22. Good documentary from Washington State.
  23. Some commenters on social media have said the police are allowed to eat on a carrier, so why not a cafe? Thoughts?
