  1. Hello All, Currently I drive a Vauxhall Vectra SRI CDTI Hatch, but looking to upgrade to an estate. I am after people's thoughts on the following line up, and also on pros / cons of Used / New - PCP / New - Leasing Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 CDTI SRI Skoda Octavia 2.0 VRS TDI Focus ST2 or ST3 TDCI BMW 330d / 325d M Sport Tourer I'd like something with a bit of grunt, that has space for the dog and the bikes!
  2. This dramatic video shows the moment a police officer smashes a car windscreen after a driver refuses to get out of his vehicle. Full Story - Mirror This video is doing the rounds on social media, many people including Lee Jasper using it as a propaganda video for their own agenda. Many people trying to imply the officers are behaviour is racist, not sure how that is? Buzzfeed are trying to find the driver to make an article about it.
  3. Hey guys, Just wanted your opinions on buying Category vehicles, for the people unaware of what category vehicles are: Category D: Category D car is one that has suffered accident damage that would cost less to repair than its value. Category C: A Cat C vehicle will have suffered significant damage in the past, probably in an accident. Category vehicle are sold for significantly less than non category vehicles In my experience cars can be signed off as CAT D for minor panel damage and as long as the seller has pictures of the damage and receipts of the repairs done I wouldn't have any issues buying a Cat D vehicle, not sure I would buy a Cat C vehicle though. Thoughts?
  4. I don't think I'd be so keen to free the bear... Can't imagine the insurance company would believe this one, they'd call you a bear faced liar. I'll get my coat.
  5. This is a real incident, but has there really been any offences committed?
  6. Hi Folks, After having some complete eejit reverse into my shiny new car yesterday, I'm thinking of getting a dash cam for my car. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm not looking to spend lots of money, probably just over £100. I'm not so worried about it having GPS but the motion sensor activation would be handy (if someone hits the car and I'm not in it, for example). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
  7. I know there are a few petrol heads on PolCom so wondered if any of you can help me! Hopefully, I'll be starting a new job soon and will need to commute about 50 miles/an hour to and from work. I'll be needing a car and this will be my first. I've been a named driver on a car before but never had my own, and I'm sure the insurance premiums will be a big shock to me, especially with being only 19 and having 0 no claims I was originally looking at buying a brand new car, but am gradually going off the idea as theY depreciate in value very quickly. I'm looking to spend around £6-7,000 and ideally want something that is reliable and comfy as i'll be driving for a couple of hours a day. Does anybody have any suggestions? I do quite like VW polo's but I'm useless when it comes to cars so any input is appreciated.
  8. These have been posted on another forum I frequent: And another picture: It's basically a laser type light that connects into the fog light system of a car. There are similar things for bikes (e.g. which are being trailed on Boris bikes). Obviously, the link is from not so would these be legal over here? I've not seen them so far, but with the winter coming I expect some will work there way to these shores.
  9. I got a new car guys! Arrived in the UK from Germany on Monday and I went to inspect it today! Should be good to collect for Monday So what do you think?
  10. From the album Car

  11. Police have released footage of a high-speed car chase through Birmingham. Yassir Ali, from Hall Green, was pulled over by officers on on Weoley Castle Road in February while driving a silver BMW 1 Series that was believed to have been stolen. His passenger got out and then attempted to obstruct the police car as 30-year-old Ali drove off at high speed. Officers followed and the footage shows Ali reaching speeds exceeding 80mph through the city's traffic. He was eventually apprehended on Bristol Road when he drove on to a pavement and became wedged between a bollard and the front of a shop. Ali, from Russell Road, was jailed for 14 months on 30 March for dangerous driving and driving whilst disqualified. He also received a five-year driving ban. *Video in link
  12. Pretty simple question really. Are stretched tyres legal? You know, the kind that young boys in their mum's cars 'cruise' around McDonalds car parks. Thanks, Sloth
  13. Pictures at the link for those who are interested.
  14. Morning all. Need to pick your brains again. Disclaimer noted. I ordered a new car 3 weeks ago and it's got a delivery date for at the end of May (provisionally). I put down £1000 deposit as I was set on getting the car however, my circumstances have changed drastically and I'm afraid I no longer can have the car! Being that it is a major car dealership (JCT) and Volkswagen, would I be entitled to my deposit back or not? FYI - everything was done face to face & I test drove a car that was the model below the vehicle I have ordered. If anyone has had any experience with this, please let me know. Thanks!
